Welcome to the AEA. AEA is a major voice for public education in Alabama. As a united organization that represents most of the state ’s school personnel, we speak with a single but strong voice. Through your membership in AEA, you make a difference for public education, the children of Alabama, and your fellow public education employees.
The competent staff of AEA is always ready to rise to the defense of the Education Trust Fund, to secure funding for health insurance, to protect your job, and to guarantee a sound retirement system.
Now myAEA.org is offering its more than 100,000 members almost instantaneous access to tools that members need to better perform their jobs. The site provides members with numerous cost-saving benefits from financial packages to travel discounts. MyAEA.org is a powerful communication tool for you, but you can only be a part of all of myAEA.org resources if you are an AEA member. Besides the resources and benefits available, members can easily communicate with other members, UniServ staff, and headquarters staff.
We strongly encourage education employees who are not members to join today. AEA provides a variety of services to its members. Improving the working conditions of members is directly tied to the improvement of learning conditions for students. The Association advocates for its members regarding salaries, benefits, and working conditions. The Association and its affiliates work closely with the national Congress, the Alabama Legislature, and the governor, as well as local superintendents and boards of education.
