Over the last two weeks, AEA has sent out several call-to-action e-mails asking members to contact their legislators about key issues concerning the education budget. The response from AEA members was tremendous! Legislators were flooded with e-mails and and the effort was successful. HB 350 and the education budget were both passed by the House.
The e-mail action alerts make it quick and easy to contact legislators and let them know what is important to you. With a couple of clicks, your message can be sent directly to both your representative and senator. It is imperative for members to let their legislators know where they stand on issues.
AEA also sent out its first legislative update, The Capital Breaks.
This new legislative e-update is just another way AEA is trying to keep you apprised of what’s happening in Montgomery and how it will affect you. The update will be sent out every Friday while the Legislature is in session.
If you are not receiving e-mails from AEA and would like to, simply e-mail the Web administrator at myaea@alaedu.org and include your full name, local association, and e-mail address. You will be added to the list immediately.
