State funded teachers for each school

The minimum number of state funded teacher units for each school is set by law. The minimum number of teachers is computed based on the enrollment during the first 20 days on roll after Labor Day of the previous school year. These teacher units must be assigned to the school where they were earned.

The difference between the minimum teacher allocation and the number of teachers required to meet the class size caps results in funded teacher units that can be used for special education, P.E., art, music, electives and the like. Allocation tables reflecting these changes are available here or from your UniServ Director.
