AEA recognized for fund contributions
Alabama was recognized at the recent National Education Association Representative Assembly (NEA-RA) for being the fifth largest contributor annually to the NEA Fund for Children and Public Schools.
AEA President Peggy Mobley received Alabama’s certificate at the conclusion of the RA from outgoing NEA President Reg Weaver.
The NEA Fund for Children and Public Schools is the political action committee that works to elect an education friendly Congress.
With Washington having a greater and greater impact on what happens in our public schools in Alabama, through No Child Left Behind and Title I funding, it is critical that educators are major players in upcoming federal elections.
